  • Hi, I really like your website and often visit it when researching honey varietals. I recently opened a business specializing in honey – huney.net, LLC. Would you mind posting a link to my website – http://www.huney.net. I have posted a link to Honey Traveler on mine – https://www.huney.net/links/. I have some unique Texas specialty honeys (Cotton, Huajillo, and Tallow Tree) that your readers might be interested in.

Can you detail me about bee-keepers in Spain ? Is there no bee-keeping in Spain ? I heard that the Honey from Mountains of Spain is very good quality ?

  • Hello Fellow Bee Keepers.

I have just received a grant to pay for air travel for an expert bee keeper to come out (8 weeks+} and help develop my bee keeping farm(more details below}.

My name is Jonathan T, and I live in the Kingdom of Tonga ( a beautiful chain of islands in the South Pacific (all year beautiful tropical weather))

I am the only bee keeper (knewbee) here on this island in Tonga, called Vavau (link to more info on Tonga and Vavau: https://www.thekingdomoftonga.com/

I am doing my best but am lacking hands on education in this manner to properly care for and regenerate the hives.

I have loss over 50% of active hives and do not want to lose any more. I have recently imported 4 mated queen Italian Carniolian’s.

Specifically i am looking for an expert Bee keeper who can come over here and teach me proper managing skills along with: splitting hives, queen rearing and requeening of hives/ Expanding the hives, identifying detrimental pests and proper eradication of such, etc…….

I have established a non profit program here called the Tongan Self Sufficient Initiative and Bee keeping is definitely one of such areas that needs to be developed here (especially with the native diabetes problem)

    I am offering to pay for airline travel to and fro, and can throw in great tasting ice cream to boot! {i own an ice cream shop :}

Accommodation here is quite reasonable {around $25O a month} and food is reasonable and wonderful as well.

In between Bee Keeping There are wonderful activities to do here: snorkeling, whale watching, fishing, beaches, vegetable market, etc…

Great restaurants, great churches, very friendly islanders etc……..

If you are interested please email me your experiences/ credentials and any questions you might have and we can go from there.

If you are not interested, but know of qualified beekeeper who would be, please feel free to forward this email

I look forward to hearing from you

You can either email, or we can skype: jonathan.d.t
    or email: [email protected]

(if you are wondering how i got your particular email i just did a search on Bee Keeping associations and your web site/ email came up)

    Good Bye For Now

  • Hi Scott,
I have been using your site as a reference for about a year. You have great insight and descriptions of honeys. I am the Director of the Honey and Pollination Center at UCDavis. We are presently in development of a honey flavor and aroma wheel. Your site has been VERY helpful. We will be putting together a panel of about 15 tasters. If you lived out this way (and I don’t think you do) I would want you on the panel and on my Advisory Committee.
Cheers to you for getting it right!
    Amina

  • Hi Amina:

Thanks! It has been a labor of love… love of honey that is! 🙂 I hope you let me know when you finish your honey flavor and aroma wheel. I am interested in trying it out! Once people become educated to the differences between different honeys, the market for honey will evolve and grow correspondingly.

Perhaps when you are done with this project I could entice you to focus on honey and cheese parings! When you get a good match the result is quite astonishing.

    …Scott

  • I am working with the American Cheese Society on a presentation at this summer’s convention in Sacramento. Two weeks ago I sat down with three of their members. We had over twenty honeys and twenty cheeses. We have whittled it down to six pairings. One has to go be for the mid-summer convention.
It was truly amazing tasting a cheese honey blend that transformed into blintzes!
Getting it all just right was intriguing and very tasty.

  • Hi Amina:

That sounds incredible! What were the six ‘winning’ combinations?

    …Scott

  • Just checked my email. forgot we had to cut it down.

  • Armin Ebtekar

    Hello
I’m Armin Ebtekar and 18 years old.
I’m very interested in beekeeping and honey production
In our house there are 32 Beehive
I take care of them in the summer
I have several designs in mind
    For example,
    I designed a device
    That can
    Natural honey production
    In other words,
All mechanisms in the body of the bee and Beehive for honey production
    In this device Done

This device is exactly like a body of the bee
Honey that this device produces is no different with natural honey

This device has many positive points

Of course , I love honey bee
And I do not want them eliminated
I want besides them , Use of these devices

In other words, Flowers put in the device
    the device separates nectar
and with specific mechanisms and processes
    That the device is done
Convert the nectar to the honey

    In addition, we can
    With other devices
    extract nectar from flowers
    Or make artificial nectar

Of course one thing to say
    Artificial honey
Made of water, sugar and essence and not worth
But honey that this device produces such as honey bees
Made of the nectar of flowers And it is quite natural

What do you think about this design

    I waiting for your answer

In the country where I live
to honey production and beekeeping do not care
My wish is that , I work in a company producing honey
Where the bee and honey is important for them

If there is mistake in the text
    I’m sorry

Honeyed that naturally there in the mountains
Of course , in mountains temperate
    And not too humid mountains
    And another points
    Eating honey
    Eat honey with bees’ wax
Feel the genuine taste of honey
    And also
    Natural Honey
    Never burns
    And not frozen
    And
Hundreds of other points about honey bees and beekeeping
If I had free time writing

A few days ago I wrote a message on this site
    About
    designed a device
    That can
    Natural honey production

Mr. Scott or anyone that it read
    I wanted to know

What is your opinion about it
Do you have ideas to make it better

If you believe are a good idea
    You can
    It Design record
    to name
    Me and yourself
Patent To name me and yourself
In the country where I live
to honey production and beekeeping do not care

If there is mistake in the text
